Rec Code 145323-02 FLORIDA TURTLES Monday, October 17, 1:00-2:00pm The difference between turtles and tortois- es can mean life or death for these cute little critters. Helpful hands can turn harmful. Learn about aquatic native turtles, land turtles and tortoises. Rec Code 145323-03 COYOTES IN CAPE CORAL Tuesday, October 25, 2:00-3:00pm Learn about how coyotes came to Cape Coral, their life history and how to minimize negative interac- tions. Rec Code 145323-06 BURROWING OWLS Thursday, December 8, 1:00-2:00pm The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife present “Living with Owls in Cape Coral.” An entertaining photographic presentation all about the official city bird, the burrowing owl. Learn why these interest- ing little creatures love Cape Coral and are perfectly happy living in harmony near people. This program is free and open to the public, but an RSVP would be nice and donations to Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife are welcome. Rec Code 145323-07 LIVING WITH WILDLIFE Monday, December 12, 1:00-2:00pm Learn how to create an oasis in your yard for wildlife. You can do your part to restore the lost ecosystems of Cape Coral. Find out methods to keep from having people and wildlife conflicts, while bring nature to your space to enjoy. Rec Code 145323-08 FLORIDA FUNGI Tuesday, December 13, 2:00-3:00pm Fungi is fascinating! Find out what mushrooms and fungi our found around southwest Florida. Rec Code 145323-09 FOR THE DOGS DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING FOR PUPPIES & BEGINNERS (16+ yrs) Class is held in the employee parking lot at Cape Coral City Hall. Register in advance through parks & recreation, or reg- ister the first night of class beginning at 7:00pm. Please bring proof of up-to-date vaccination records the first night of class. Taught by Lee County Dog Obedience Club, there is a class for puppies 3 - 5 months old and a basic training class for dogs over 6 months old. CAPE CORAL FRIENDS OF WILDLIFE MEETINGS Meets the second Tuesday of the month at Rotary Park 7:00-9:00pm Upcoming meetings: 9/13, 10/11, 11/15 and 12/13 For anyone interested in learning more about burrowing owls or learning to help take care of the burrows around the city. No experience necessary – you can learn it here! These meetings are open to the public and always have an interest- ing guest speaker in addition to the meetings.
