GENERAL INFORMATION

Mission Statement

The mission of the Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department

is to provide a wide range of recreational programs for individu-

als of various ages, skill levels, interests, social needs and eco-

nomic capabilities that collectively enhance the overall quality

of life within the City of Cape Coral.

Be a Volunteer! Whether you are looking to earn required volunteer hours or simply get more involved in your community, there are a number of opportunities throughout the year for friendly and enthusiastic individuals and groups of all ages to volunteer with the Parks & Recreation Department. Or, if you have a talent and want to share it, the department is always look- ing for volunteer specialty instructors. For more information, please call (239) 573-3120 or contact the recreational facility you are interested in volunteering at directly. Facility Rentals & Park Shelter Reservations If you are seeking a place to host your next meeting, event or social gathering, look no further! Several of Cape Coral’s recreation centers have rooms available for private rentals at affordable rates and 20 of the parks have covered picnic shelters, many with BBQ grills and electric, which can be reserved in advance for a nominal fee (see page 30 for details). For more information, contact the facility of your choice, visit www.CapeParks.com or to reserve a park shel- ter, call (239) 573-3191. Boating & Boat Trailer Parking The City of Cape Coral boasts over 400 miles of canals, many of which have direct access to the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico, offering a wide range of marine activities to boating enthusiasts of all ages. The Boat Trailer Parking Program is in effect at the City’s five developed ramps. Boat- ers must pay a $10 daily fee through the Passport Parking app or drop box to park their boat trailers while they are out on the water. To get info on the new parking app and/or to add funds to your account, visit www.m.ppprk.com. Cape Coral residents may purchase an annual boat trail- er parking decal for only $50. Cape Coral residents may now present their Pay and Park electronic receipt within 72 hours for a discount on the purchase of an annual decal as well as register additional tow vehicles at a discounted rate. There is a provision for commercial Cape Coral businesses to purchase annual decals for $100 each. Several undeveloped boat ramps are also located through- out the City with access to freshwater. Visit the Marine Ser- vices section of the website to view a map of all ramp loca- tions or, for more information about the Boat Trailer Parking program and/or boater assistance, contact the Harbormas- ter’s Office at (239) 574-0809.
